Acquisition of Maruko Inn Tokyo
Ishin Hotels Group (COO: Michael Nigitsch; Head Office: Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo) recently acquired the Maruko Inn Tokyo（Taishido, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; 119 guest rooms）from Darwin Inc. and took over the management of the hotel on November 16, 2004 (Tuesday). The hotel will be operated under the Ishin Hotels Group umbrella and, within the next half year, will be fully renovated and reopened under a new name, adding a new brand to the Group.
Since it first opened in 1984, the excellent location of the Maruko Inn Tokyo, in the center of the business and shopping district around Sangenjaya Station, only 5 minutes from Shibuya and within convenient reach of central Tokyo, has attracted many guests to use the hotel as a business hub.
Ishin Hotels Group will be renovating the guest rooms, introducing new interior design, bed linen design, etc., so as to appeal not only to business users but also to a wider clientele, and will be aiming for further market growth, taking advantage of the hotel's highly practical location.
Ishin Hotels Group is a joint venture established by Soros Real Estate Investors and the Westmont Hospitality Group. The acquisition of the Maruko Inn Tokyo brings the number of hotels in the Ishin Hotels Group's portfolio to seven. The Ishin Hotels Group will continue to acquire and operate hotels around Japan.
